How to Make the Most of the Isle Mist Offer

How to Make the Most of the Isle Mist Offer

This month, for the whole of September we're offering a mini Isle Mist with every order over £60. There's no need for a code, we'll spot your orders and pop one in. It dawned on me that it might be useful to talk a little about how it's best used and why rituals in skincare are so useful.

We live busy lives, our skin is exposed to weather, pollutants and the desiccating effects of central heating or air conditioning. We have responsibilities, for work, for partners, for children and for parents - often increasing in complexity as we age rather than decreasing. Age brings with it the realities of grief in so many forms, the loss of friends, family and faithful pets often leaving us feeling vulnerable in ways we hadn't expected.

Rituals in skincare offer a moment of self-care, of escape, of time just to feel the delight of beautifully formulated, gorgeously scented, sustaining handmade products. It is a time that you can dedicate to yourself and forget everything else. It doesn't need to have 20 steps or multiple products for every little piece of you, it can be simple so that you can spend time on each part and feel the love.

The Harris Edition was created with exactly this in mind - there's plenty of choice within it but in the end it comes down to 3 simple steps: Cleanse, Mist, Moisturise.

Cleansing can be as simple as applying the Multi-Mask as you get into the shower and rinsing it off at the end, it softens and strengthens the skin and soothes redness whilst maintaining tone or alternatively our Harmonising Cleansing Balm which is a soft oil balm which turns to milk when you rinse it off. Made with Equisetum, Nettle and Sage it smooths, firms and brightens and it melts away sunscreen and make-up so is brilliant at the end of the day.

Misting is the most wonderful step, it's probably my favourite bit. I hold the bottle about 10 inches away from my face and spritz several times in rainbow arcs so it feels like the most enchanting drizzle. We make 3 Mists, the Harris Rose, the Rose Geranium & Witch-hazel and the Isle Mist. The Isle Mist is the most complex, bringing together 3 separate distillations to capture the therapeutic heart of this island. Roses, Fucus Seaweed, Blackcurrant leaves, Spruce and Bog Myrtle plus Flower Essences for confidence and protection. It is a beautiful product bringing fantastic lasting hydrating and soothing properties.

The final step is to moisturise. It's best to apply your moisturiser of choice whilst your skin is still slightly damp from the Mist, it helps the oils to penetrate better and it locks in the moisture to the skin.

We have creams, balms and a serum for this purpose. The Unblushing Cream is a dreamy, deeply calming cream to reduce redness and calm sensitivity. It smells like a walk across the Machair in high summer. The Blemish Resolve is for skin prone to breakouts and with seaweed at its heart it is great for balancing sebum production. Face Cream #3 is full of resins to ease fine lines and still our best selling cream after 15 years.

The Wild Beauty Balm is ideal where the skin may be suffering from oxidative stress, offering a layer of protection from city life pollution, wild wind or the excesses of heating/air con. It leaves the skin glowing and dewy without being oily, it's a multi-award winning, perfectly balanced balm for daily use.

The Timeless Beauty Serum is the icing on the cake, it is simply beautiful and incredibly effective at offering the skin deep conditioning and structural support with 10 active botanicals which enhance your skin's nighttime repair process.

Our products are all about choice, about finding a set of products that work for you for weeks, months and years and because of the way we work, they are all brimming with life and hooching with vitality. From Root to Ritual, Seed to Serum, Field to Face, they are all you need to bring a sense of peace and the benefits of self-care into your day.
