Behind the Beans
This coffee is sourced from a local exporter who works with over 3,000 smallholder producers from cooperatives across Jaén, San Ignacio, and Cusco. Their focus is on building sustainable relationships, socio-economic development, and environmental preservation. This partnership supports a wide range of specialty varieties like Pache, Geisha, and Bourbon, processed through natural, washed, and honey methods. Certified by USDA Organic, Fair Trade, and Rainforest Alliance, they emphasize quality and traceability from farm to export, providing specialty coffees to over ten countries globally.
The partnership between producers and exporter is centered around strong community support, enabling farmers to maintain production consistency, improve income, and benefit from educational resources. Collection centers ensure quality control and logistic support, while farmers receive technical assistance, focusing on organic pest control and post-harvest improvements. Coffees are dried on raised beds, using careful methods to enhance flavor profiles ranging from fruity and floral to nutty and chocolatey.

The coffee has a wonderful aroma when brewing, and as you drink it - you can taste hints of the chocolate mixed in with the maple syrup which after drinking the coffe leaves you with a smooth after taste which does linger which makes it more enjoyable.
